Jesus Villasante is head of the “Software Technologies” Unit of the Information Society and Media Directorate General in the European Commission. He has a degree in Telecommunications Engineering from Madrid Polytechnic University and a Masters in Public Management from the Universite Libre de Bruxelles, Ecole de Commerce Solvay. He has worked for Digital Equipment Corporation where he held positions as systems engineer, project manager for manufacturing industries and software advisor for the sales and business operations. He also worked for Telefónica and for the Computers in Medicine Section of the Air Force Hospital in Madrid in the analysis and design of medical applications and hospital information systems. In 1986 he joined the European Commission, Information Society Directorate General. He has worked in Analysis and Preparation of Programmes and the Telematics Applications Programme. Prior to his current position he was head of the “eBusiness” Unit in the Information Society Technologies Programme.

Ralf Westphal (www.ralfw.de) ist freier Softwaretechnologievermittler. Er arbeitet als Fachautor, Coach/Berater und Referent auf Entwickler-Events im In- und Ausland. Schwerpunkt seiner Arbeit sind die Architektur von .NET-Software und die Förderung innovativer Softwaretechnologien. Bei der Wissensvermittlung beschreitet er gerne ungewöhnliche Wege, so zum Beispiel mit den Videoserien .NET TV und dotnetpro.tv und dem Trainingsunternehmen Professional Developer College (www.prodevcollege.de). Ralf Westphal ist Microsoft „Visual Developer Solution Architect“ MVP und war von 1998 bis 2005 einer der unabhängigen Microsoft Regional Directors für Deutschland.

Ralf Westphal is a freelancer with the focus on consulting and coaching software technologies. He works as author, consultant and is speaker or organizer for developer events worldwide. Main topics of his work are the .NET-software and the promoting of innovative software technologies. His way to share and distribute the knowledge is sometimes extraordinarily compared with standard methods, e.g. with his video series .NET TV and dotnetpro.tv or with the Training Company Professional Developer College.
Ralf Westphal is a Microsoft Visual Developer Solution Architect MVP and worked as independent Microsoft Regional Directors for Germany from 1998 until 2005.
