During a week of lectures students learned how to model a web serviced-based solution. In the beginning of the course there were introduced with advanced web services topics. Furthermore some new approaches to SOA architectures such as the ASG project outcomes were presented. Then an example showing how to model and implement SOA-based solution was presented. Students were introduced with concepts of web services choreography and orchestration.
During the course students were divided in groups, each of them should model and implement a composite application. The result of the work of each group was presented in the final seminar presentation.
After accomplishing one week of lectures, laboratories and consultations students went to their companies in order to prepare real-world soultion solving the problem identified in the company that should be modeled and partly implemented in web services technology.
Web Services Summer School organized at the Poznan University of Economics involved students from The Poznan University of Economics as well as from Berufsakademie Heidenheim to work together in order to prepare web services-based implementation solving defined real-life problem. During one week of lectures, laboratories (hands-on-sessions) students worked in order to fully undestrand current trends in Software Enginnering and try to implement them in their own project. During this time they were also acquainted with platforms such as ASG that solve already identified problems connected to UDDI registry and current WS standards.
